Hanna Johansson joined the BIG office in Copenhagen in 2008 and, in 2019, founded BIG Architects in Barcelona. As a Partner, she has contributed to key projects of the practice, including the Biosphere in Sweden, the Copenhagen Harbour Bath, and the Tirpitz Museum.
Her architectural approach is grounded in a holistic vision that integrates community, culture, economy, and sustainability. Her work spans multiple scales, from interiors to master planning, across residential, hospitality, office, educational, and cultural projects.
She has also contributed to major international competition wins, including the Tallinn Town Hall, Fuse Valley and the Farfetch headquarters, the Gastronomy Open Ecosystem in San Sebastián, and the European Commission’s Joint Research Center in Seville. She is currently overseeing the construction of the Ellinikon Park Rise residential development in Athens.
