Shadow & Light theme 2019

The Architect Show 2019 introduced the thematic concept “Shadow & Light theme 2019,” unfolding as an atmospheric spatial journey across eight distinct environments that revealed the intrinsic qualities of materials through the interplay of illumination and shadow. Curated by Bllend Design, led by Helen Brasinika, in collaboration with Design Ambassador, the exhibition was marked by a thought-provoking convergence of architecture and tourism through the prism of Airbnb.
The ColorHUBS hosted workshops and Color Forecasting sessions delivered by eminent international experts in color and design, while thematic sections such as “Hotelling Now,” “Leisure Architecture,” and “Co-Working + Co-Living” opened up a wider reflection on the future of the built—and inhabited—environment. At the same time, the masterclass “Coaching & Storytelling for the Architect-Manager of 2019” by Giannis Mylopoulos, alongside a lecture on smart buildings by PARTHENIOS architects+associates, brought into sharp focus the year’s dual emphasis on human-centered design and technological advancement.

2019 marked a tidal moment for the institution—a year in which architecture fruitfully intersected with design, tourism, and innovation within a unified field of creative exploration.
